Inclusive communications tools and resources
How the Office for Disability Issues can help government deliver inclusive communications and represent disabled people positively
Inclusive communications roadshows
The Office for Disability Issues (ODI) runs sessions on inclusive communications for departments across government. By the end of the session, attendees will be able to:
- create inclusive communications
- involve disabled people from the start of their projects
- represent disabled people positively.
Each session includes a presentation, interactive exercises and case studies.
The roadshows are suitable for all grades of government communicators, but may be particularly relevant to operational staff. These sessions are available by prior arrangement to most government departments.
Cross-government network on disability communications
The cross-government network meets every quarter. All members are government communicators who are interested in finding out more about inclusive communications.
Meetings include:
- discussions about how to share good practice across government
- guest presenters from disabled people’s organisations, charities and other government departments
- members’ surgery to help create solutions to common problems.
Office for Disability Issues Image Library
ODI offers all government communicators free access to over 800 positive images of disabled people for use in any government communications. All images can be downloaded instantly, subject to terms and conditions. Sign up using the link below.
