About Equality 2025
Equality 2025 is a non-departmental public body of publicly-appointed disabled people.
The group offers strategic, confidential advice to government on issues that affect disabled people. This advice can include participation in the very early stages of policy development or in-depth examination of existing policy. The group works with ministers and senior officials across government.
How Equality 2025 is run
Equality 2025 includes eight members, a Deputy Chair and a Chair.

The group reports to the Minister for Disabled People, Maria Miller MP.
The Chair meets with the Minister regularly. All advice provided by Equality 2025 is evaluated.
The group is supported by a secretariat based in the Office for Disability Issues (ODI).
How Equality 2025 gives advice
Officials may seek advice from Equality 2025 at any time. Equality 2025 generally give written advice or other formal responses. Officials and ministers seeking advice may be invited to attend one of the group’s quarterly meetings. Members may also provide advice through other meetings or telekits.
